“Time for Hope”

Our 5th anniversary and Hope is what we have looking into the future! Together we raised over  $202,000!!

Kristi Gordon of Global TV was the Master of Ceremonies at our event and what an emotional evening it was. First we had young Cole Armour singing with his angelic voice and brought crowds to their feet. Then we had Angela Maffin (née Kyjanka) who returned for the fourth time this year! Angela was accompanied by rock star & keyboardist Doug Johnson of Loverboy. A spring fashion show, sponsored by local retailers and modeled by community models, concluded our entertainment for the evening.

We want to thank you for your support over the past 5 years. Awareness has been our main focus and we would like to stress to all women, the importance of yearly mammograms. Please watch the video “Face of Time” which was premièred during or 2010 event “Time for Hope”. Featured in the video are survivors’ testimonies of early detection.

When we first thought of bringing this wonderful event to White Rock / South Surrey, we never imagined that we would raise close to $600,000 in 5 years. Our journey here has had many rewards; the friendships of our fabulous committee; the bonding of our community partners Fraser Downs and Potters; the devotion of the young Angel Wings; the continued support of our wonderful sponsors and donors; the dedication and commitment of all the volunteers (many of whom return year after year); all the attendees and the entire community that make each event the success it has been. Our journey together has been very gratifying!

With your support, we march hand in hand with CBCF in helping find a cure for breast cancer by 2020. This disease shall not cause fear amongst us in the future! We are fortunate that BC has some of the best doctors working at the BC Cancer Agency. The Nite of Hope Fellowship Grants, awarded by CBCF from proceeds raised from our events, go directly to fund a brilliant local researcher. The funds from last year’s Nite of Hope events were awarded to 3 talented researchers right here in BC. One of those researchers, Dr. J. Ashley Davidson is featured on the video “Face of Time”.

Thank you for joining us in this journey and see you next year!
